Quarantine Graphic Design

I liked the simple art for this one, with the powerful messaging of being united. And while the fist is associated with BLM, I think it's appropriately used to also call attention to Covid-19 affecting communities of color. 

I just love this art and the styling is so nice. I always am drawn to posters like these because they feel really clean and fresh. The looking up symbolism and the limited color palette draw the eyes in. 

This one is so cute! I love the simplicity and positive messaging. The play on words and the positive energy of dancing. Reminds me of when my friends and I attended Some Good News' virtual prom. (If you don't know SGN, highly recommend checking it out, hosted by John Krasinski- bring tissues)  

In terms of seeing graphic design, I've seen lots of posters and videos of these kind of messages across social media. I've personally been focused on learning digital drawing software and practicing my own drawing skills. But it is inspirational and I will be planning on making some sort of design soon. :)

Concordant are fonts that are the same type face but can vary with boldness, size, spacing, or italics. Using the Pen Tool

P E N    T O O L   P R A C T I C E Using the pen tool was both a hard and easy experience. Previously in digital art you can simply draw a line and the line will appear. However when working with vectors it is more mathematical and precise. The first attempt was tracing the design on the left. Following a video you can duplicate shapes, rotate and adjust the lines after they are made. The lines were also super clean in comparison to my shakey and sketchy hand.  After that I moved on to drawing Dragonite (work in progress). This was my second attempt because the first attempt was unsuccessful. I was cued into my drawing habits of like I was inking or drawing line art. I wasn't paying attention to how the shapes fit together or how they fill. You can't use a paint bucket, but you can utilize layering and arrangement to create the colored shapes that you want.
