Elements of Design

In this about exploring each of the elements of design: Line, shape, color, value, texture, space, and form. I took notice of the way that the different elements went into the concept of 3D design, or graphic arts. Previously I've been taught these in a more traditional fine art context. But using the programs to specifically explore each concept was something new. I understand the principles but I never really gave much thought to how these can work and make something more appealing.

Used the pen tool to create a variety of
lines that vary in width, direction,
and length.

Using the shape and pen tool to create 2d enclosed spaces
of both geometric and organic shapes.

Color is shown through the way light reflects off
a surface through hue and intensity.
Value describes the lightness or darkness of a surface.
We used primary and secondary colors to exp-
eriment with.

These words describe the surface quality, or texture of
the picture embedded within them.
Space refers to the illusion of depth or the positive
and negative space (like having room for your eyes
to rest as it looks at the page)

3 dimensional shapes that can be viewed from
multiple angles that have volume. We used the
shape tool and then played around with 3D.

  1. Hi Amanda! Please add your reflection asap!

Write a few sentences on the following: Briefly explain the project (for an outside observer).
In your own words, explain the difference between the Elements
Explain how/what you noticed different things you would have normally ignored as a result of working on this project.
Let me know when you have completed this and I will check you off.
    thank you!
