Personal Logo!

 P E R S O N A L   L O G O Using all the previous research and experiments with font type, placement, colors, gradients, I settled with this simpler logo. I kind of made it by accident by messing around with the pen tool, and kind of sat in the back of my mind as a favorite (I think also because I accidentally got that perfect symmetrical shape in one go). It was fun to play around and discover the different toolsets you could use!

Public Messages in the Pandemic

Hope Fence Illustration In NE Portland, I'm sure you have heard of the Hope Fence (#hopefence). My family friends own the house and the fence. While it's not exactly graphic design, it's still a contribution to the public. They asked if I could add something so I did:).   The fence on 45th and Brazee is covered in positive messages and quotes about sticking together in community in the time of this pandemic. Many of the messages are similar to the designs I'm seeing in the pandemic. So I went over to their house the other day and painted one of my favorite quotes on the fence with a little mouse and mushrooms. It's on the inside since there wasn't much room on the outside but it was fun to contribute to the hope fence. I just wanted to add something positive and Jen told me to do whatever I wanted lol.

Logo Design Research

L O G O  D E S I G N  R E S E A R C H In this task we were instructed to research familiar logos from each of the areas: sports teams, music, clothing, food, and technology. I noticed that first with the sports teams, they were sure to highlight their 'mascot' or 'icon' of the team. Or they use lettering that catches the eye, for example Green Bay Packers and their G inside a logo. Or the N and Y representing both NY and the Y for Yankees. For bands there are some symbols that are recognizable with out the text to accompany them. Many of the color schemes are black, white, and red, but that's not necessarily a rule of thumb. In general compared to the other logos they are a lot darker than the bright counterparts. Like with the food, none of them use black, but instead contrasting or bright colors to grab the attention of the audience.
