Product Redesign

FRANK OCEAN ALBUM REDESIGN I really like this album and thought it'd be fun to redesign:) Picture of Frank Ocean Redesign I don't know why but a floppy disk just came to mind. When listening to this album it really just reminds me of late night drives with friends and a feeling of nostalgia. I took the image of Ocean above and played around until I got something I liked. This kind of represents visually how i hear the music, like it's hard to describe it but this is the vibe. So I made a little floppy disk with a pic of him.

Public Messages in the Pandemic

Hope Fence Illustration In NE Portland, I'm sure you have heard of the Hope Fence (#hopefence). My family friends own the house and the fence. While it's not exactly graphic design, it's still a contribution to the public. They asked if I could add something so I did:).   The fence on 45th and Brazee is covered in positive messages and quotes about sticking together in community in the time of this pandemic. Many of the messages are similar to the designs I'm seeing in the pandemic. So I went over to their house the other day and painted one of my favorite quotes on the fence with a little mouse and mushrooms. It's on the inside since there wasn't much room on the outside but it was fun to contribute to the hope fence. I just wanted to add something positive and Jen told me to do whatever I wanted lol.

Social Distancing/Quarantine Designs

Quarantine Graphic Design I liked the simple art for this one, with the powerful messaging of being united. And while the fist is associated with BLM, I think it's appropriately used to also call attention to Covid-19 affecting communities of color.  I just love this art and the styling is so nice. I always am drawn to posters like these because they feel really clean and fresh. The looking up symbolism and the limited color palette draw the eyes in.  This one is so cute! I love the simplicity and positive messaging. The play on words and the positive energy of dancing. Reminds me of when my friends and I attended Some Good News' virtual prom. (If you don't know SGN, highly recommend checking it out, hosted by John Krasinski- bring tissues)   In terms of seeing graphic design, I've seen lots of posters and videos of these kind of messages across social media. I've personally been focused on learning digital drawing software and practicing my own d...

Event Poster

Image
EVENT POSTER While I originally was planning on doing a poster for a band called "Saint Motel" and their performance in Portland, I was asked to create an official poster for World Oregon. I'm a part of a program called Young Leaders in Action and we have been working for months to create a curriculum for teachers about Climate Refugees. Eventually the curriculum is going to go up on the Zinn Education website but our head leader asked if I could design a "poster" that could be sent out to participants. This isn't the final design that we're going with after meeting and talking about the poster yesterday but I still made a poster which felt pretty cool. I'm excited about the new idea though!! I'll post later.
